If we think of a goal as a time line, we find that we can put an A point and a B point to the equation. We find that we are at A, and our goal is at B. Now in the science of goal setting and achievement, we can think about this statistically.

You can either don't succeed or you do succeed. And out of the successes, we find that some of the success stories will achieve their goal sooner than another - even for similar goals, with similar circumstances.

We want to focus on those that achieve success quicker. And the reason is simple, it means smart goal setting. And this is what the smart part is - a way to work smarter not harder to get goals achieved in quicker time.

A goal setting system is a framework, which works with all your goals. You can apply it to create projects big or small.

A goal setting system can be your own system or someone else's. And it should first be tried and tested, and then learned off by heart, so you can always use it.

Smart + a system to set goals = major success. The reason is simple, and I will go into the equation.

You see, when you get that smart system, you are ultimately moving forward. But, without a system, you can easily get stuck. Well, when the space shuttle is 'go for launch', it goes and goes. There is no stopping it, and no room for procrastination. Instead you are moving forward.

A goal setting system is there to constantly provide you with the framework to keep moving forward. A goal setting system is like the parts of a vehicle, the engine, and the wheels.

Your part is to act as the smart fuel. You take action, and the results work, because you always create goals when problems or obstacles present themselves, and you can move forward at lighting speeds!

How to stick to your goals?

I set goals for myself and as time goes by i give up on it. Whether it be because it's a slow process or I get frustrated what ever the case may be I never stick to one thing to see the outcome. How can I fix this problem?

i set goals all the time for myself but i find that writing them down is alot better then having them in your head because when you have them in your head your more likely to make excuses for not finishing them later. So next time you make a goal write it down somewhere or put it in a frame and put it some where that you will see it everyday and be reminded of it. Works for me!

If you really want something, you will get it!

It's true: desire is a powerful force that can't easily be stopped.

Think about your goal, about what you want to achieve in life, and ask yourself the following questions:

Do you really want to reach your goal?
Do you want to reach your goal so badly you will never give up?
What are you willing to sacrifice to reach your goal?
In what circumstances would you stop reaching for your goal?

If you really want something, really really want it, then you will never quit, no matter what the circumstances are! If you really want to reach a goal, you will find the means! Where there's a will, there's a way!

Your desire is the fire that provides you with the energy to reach your goals and to excel.
You know that a little fire does not provide enough warmth or energy. It is thus extremely important that there is a strong fire burning within you that provides you with the necessary energy to reach your goal.

When your desire to reach your goal is weak or mediocre, you won't muster enough energy to get there and you will quit half way.

An intense desire will always get you closer to your goal. If you don't reach your goal, it's because your desire is not intense enough!

This intense desire is your passion : a burning desire to achieve something and to excel.
If you are not sure whether your desire is strong enough, do the following exercise : take a piece of paper and write down all the reasons why you want to reach this goal. Make a list of all the benefits you can imagine. Answer this question: WHY would you like to reach your goal? What is the gain, the pleasure that you will get? What are the benefits that make it worth the effort?

Write down all the benefits that you will get when you reach your goal. Write down at least 10 ways in which you will personally benefit. The more reasons you find, the more powerful is your desire!
It's a good idea to read these benefits every morning. This will help you stay connected with your goal during the day, and you will be all the more motivated and inspired. Desire wins over obstacles. No matter what is stopping you from reaching your goal, a strong and intense desire will always overcome the obstacles.

To reach your goal, you need to do more than just write it down. You need to feel a burning desire to have, to become, and to do what you want. Your desire needs to be very intense in order to fuel your energy to keep you moving forward without giving up!

What is this desire, this passion? It is what makes people work for hours, from early in the morning till late in the evening. Their desire dominates their conversations, their thoughts and their actions.Take some time to consider this : do you really want to reach your goal so badly that you will never quit under any circumstance?

I want to be America's next Top Model, or any type of model. Help!!!?

I've been trying to become a model for many years. I have been to many auditions like Powers and Paul Mitchell to name a few. I was even chosen. Never once turned down. Thats my dream. I have no other goals that I am set on. I go to school, but keep changing my major. Not really interested in anything but modeling and fashion. Anyone with any advice. Its kind of hard because of the area I am from. I will have to leave town in order to be seen. But I have no cash. Any suggestions.

Achieving any goal requires the correct mindset. In weight loss it is often over looked. We look in the mirror and do not like what we see, "think how to rid tummy fat" and then we usually consider padlocking the fridge or setting up camp in the local gym or sports centre. A lot of us miss the first port of call, the engine room that drives our ship across the rough ocean to weight loss island, OUR MINDS! When Edmund Hilary climbed Everest he did not stand at base camp and think "right chaps I have got the sandwiches" and then charge off for the summit. This major accomplishment was split into numerous stages, with smaller goals of reaching camp one, then camp two and so on until reaching the summit. Break your goal into something like first month I will lose 3 pounds, 2nd month 3 pounds, and so on. Set dates for each mini goal and most importantly give YOURSELF a reward when you achieve each mini goal. YOU ARE NOT CLIMBING EVEREST Ok so you are not climbing Everest but you need to focus on how to rid tummy fat. One thing you must have in common with Sir Edmund is that with planning, commitment, devotion and most importantly the correct mindset YOU will reach your summit.

If you follow these tips for losing weight, you are sure to notice that YOU will achieve some weight loss without having to go on the latest fad diet, and you will soon be back on track to being healthy and happy! Whatever you do, it is important to remember you can be successful and you will lose weight without starving yourself!
