Can I put Stress Zyme, the biological filtration booster solution into a fish tank with the fish in it?

We have 4 fish and one of the four has developed black spots on his fins that may be a result of ammonia poisoning in the water. Petco told me to buy stress enzyme, which is the good bacteria that fish tanks need to get rid of ammonia in the water, but i want to make sure it is safe to add it into the water with the fish in it. ( or do they need to be taken out for it to settle first??)

Stress Zyme is garbage. Live bacteria cannot live in an unrefrigerated bottle. Your best way to reduce ammonia is to do 25 per cent water changes every 6 hours until you get it down and then figure out why it is so high and fix the problem.

What type of fish are they, how are they housed and how long has the tank been set up, was it cycled before the fish were added?
