How can i reduce my anxiety?

i'm going to take my driver's test for the second time tomorrow. i'm a decent driver: i don't make stupid mistakes, i know the rules of the road, etc. but i failed my test because i got nervous. i started over thinking and screwed up. how can i reduce my anxiety so that i don't get nervous again?

when you start getting anxiety, breath deeply, and slowly, like 6 times , inhele in 6 times wait 3 times and exele in 6 times, this is calle pranic breathing is very effective, before the test picture yourself, focus and sure about what are you doing, about the driving, look in the mirrow and said, i can do it, i will pass it, do this all the way before you arrive there. you will do ok
just have confidence in yourself. and dont think negative

Stress And Anxiety

Does it sound like stress/anxiety is causing this nausea?

I am 14 yrs old. Lately I've been under a lot of stress (fighting with my mom a LOT, worrying about alot of things, and stressing over a hard summer assignment) and for the past week I've had bad nausea. It comes and goes at random times during the day and is ALWAYS present at night when I get tired. I never vomit, though, and Emetrol doesn't help much. It is interfering with my sleep but my mom doesn't think I need to see a doctor. Is it problably just stress-related?

See a doctor.
Anything that lasts for more than two weeks should be checked out.
You could have GERD (reflux) that could be aggravated by the stress. It is easily treated and cause some pretty serious complications if left untreated. Do not eat within two hours, or at least one hour of lying down. Avoid things that irritate your stomach. Stick to bland foods like rice bread, clear liquids, noodles, jellow, and similiar non-spicey foods.

See if it is related to any specific foods such as milk, cheese, milk products, breads, eggs, etc.

There is a long list of things that "could" be going on. I would not self-diagnose and I would see if there is some local help available to help with some coping strategies for all the stress and fighting.

Make sure you take really good care of yourself when all this stress is going on. Eat regularly, sleep, exercise, and have some fun in your life.

Sorry life is tough right now, but promise better days are coming.

I wish you the best. See a doctor. Even if stress is the cause, it is important to do something about it. Untreated, prolonged, uncontrolled stress causes a huge variety of illness and health problems that can be very serious. Unload the stress with some serious physical outlet so it can't make you sick.

I don't know if you are having other symptoms, but I strongly encourage you two not to diagnose and ignore what is an important symptom.

By the way the "symptom checker" on WebMD is a good tool to help get an idea of what is going on. Check it out!

Good luck with both your mom and your assignment, but even better luck being happy.

Let Go Of Useless Worry

Posted on February 25, 2009

With the way the world is today, it’s more important than ever that you learn how to free yourself from needless worry. Despite misguided opinion to the contrary, worry does you no good.  It’s actually counterproductive.

Worry is visualizing the future in a negative way.  If we do that, we ruin a perfectly good present moment by dwelling on an imaginary possible future.  Done consistently, it warps a person's ability to see reality clearly and robs them of their vitality.

Fortunately, how much we spend our time in anxious thinking is up to us – again, despite what many people believe.

For example, many people attribute their worry to outside events.  They think that feeling anxious is the best way to react to a situation.  If someone does this, they've given up control.

Many people believe that worry serves a useful purpose.

The more we look, the clearer it becomes that there are many such fallicies in circulation.

So to begin escaping excessive anxiety, you must look at the beliefs you hold about the purpose of worry.  What do you think it accomplishes?  Do you believe it somehow benefits you?  You won’t be able to free yourself from worry if you don’t understand what benefit you might believe it has.

Some people harbor the notion that spending time worrying is unavoidable and useful. They believe that worrying is a sign of maturity and being responsible, or that worrying is how you find an answer to a problem.

Those beliefs are wrong.

Worrying is actually a poor use of time.  Instead of being a way to, it keeps you stuck in the problem.  The mature approach is to focus on the problem only long enough to clearly define it, then focus on working on the solution.

Another excuse people have to engage in worry is that they believe it somehow keeps unwanted things from happening.

Let's face it, that way of thinking comes close to being a superstition.  Rather than provide a solution, worry keeps you finding workable solutions. Worry fills a mind with bad possble outcomes that most likely will never happen.

As you consider the role worry is playing in you life now youll likely come to the conclusion you'd be better off if you did less of it.  Personally I believe that we'd all be more productive if we could get worry under control.

Here's a site that will help you start to Free Yourself From Worry immediately.  Click on that link and you'll get information you can apply today to start to get worry under control

Reducing Anxiety

what's the key to reducing anxiety?

I think it depends on what level you have it.

For example, if you experience anxiety only in certain settings (such as meetings at work, or doing exams) this is completely natural and you'll find a lot of people experience anxiety in these settings too.

To help in these types of situations, you might find that the following can reduce your anxiety:

1. Concentrating on your breathing (relaxing your shoulders, breathing in slowly and counting to 5, and then breathing out slowly and couting to five)

2. Don't drink caffeine prior to a setting you know makes you anxious (no tea, coffee, soft drinks)

3. Join a gym, or do regular excercise, or even go for a run in your local area

But if your anxiety is a lot worse or it's interferring with your day to day life, or preventing you from doing certain things, such as it makes you feel constantly sick, youir palms sweat, you feel very nervous, you shake, your mind goes blank, blushing, dry mouth... then you probably could do with professional help from your doctor. They can help in several ways:

1. Give you anti-anxiety drugs.

2. Refer you for counselling or CBT (Cognitive Behavourial Theraphy)

3. Give you beta blockers, which you take as and when is needed (for example just before you have to give a presentation at work) and they radically reduce your physical symptoms of anxiety.

GODO LUCK, I've suffered from anxiety for over 10 years now and know how horrible it can be. You may find that the following 2 websites will help you too:
