Everyone is talking about him these days. We know that MRSA, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Has also been mentioned as a staph infection. This infection resistant to antibiotics that used to be confined mainly to hospitals has made its way into our communities and, worst of all, schools in our children.

While others are looking to antibiotics to treat this infection. I learned of a natural and safe alternative that has proven effective against MRSA.

First, let's talk a little about MRSA and what it is.

The form of MRSA is making headlines is also known as acquired MRSA in the community or CA-MRSA.

MRSA or staph infections were successfully treated with penicillin 50 years ago. But over time, strains of this infection have mutated and are now resistant to many common antibiotics formulations. The concern is that is being resistant to even the strongest antibiotics who had worked until recently. In fact, the Mayo Clinic described as CA-MRSA, a bacterium that is evolving rapidly, and may be a matter of time before that, too, becomes resistant to many antibiotics. "

Because MRSA is contracted by skin to skin contact or by contact with personal items or surfaces that were exposed by people infected, it can spread easily.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) defines the 5 C's as the form of MRSA can be contracted:

- Overcrowding

- Frequent skin-to-skin contact

- Compromised skin (ie cuts or abrasions)

- Contaminated items and surfaces

- Lack of cleanliness.

They will say where the 5 C are common include schools, residences, military barracks, households and child care.

And now the good news:

Researchers at the University of Manchester say they have identified three essential oils that killed MRSA and E. coli and many other bacteria and fungi within just two minutes of contact. Patchouli, Melaleuca alternifolia (commonly known as tea tree), geranium, lavender essential oil and Citricidal (grapefruit seed extract) were used separately and in combination to assess their antibacterial activity against MRSA and other strains of Staphylococcus aureus.

The summary of the study indicates that a combination of geranium oil and Citricidal showed the greatest-anti-bacterial effects against MRSA. Against Staphylococcus aureus that is sensitive to a combination of geranium and tea tree oil was most active.

In a separate study, the essential oils was the most effective against MRSA, in order of speed of effectiveness, are:

1. geranium

2. Tea Tree

3. lavender

4. mint

5. peppermint

In a third study conducted at Weber State University, found that thieves dissemination of essential oil blend of rosemary, eucalyptus, cinnamon, cloves and lemon, is effective in killing more than 99% of bacteria in the air, including strains of staphylococcus.

Clearly, these studies demonstrate the potential of essential oils and essential oil vapors as agents Antibacterial and for use in the treatment of MRSA and staph infections.

It is equally important to note here that all essential oils are not the themselves. It is essential to use only pure, unadulterated essential oils.

In the U.S., an essential oil can be labeled 100% pure if it contains so little as the essential oil 5% and 95% of additives. Many times, additives are synthetic chemicals and the details that have to be disclosed on the label. So, How do you know what you are getting? Always do your research and read labels. Therapeutic grade essential oils are safe to use aromatherapy as inhalants, use topically and taken internally. The oils that do not allow topical application and / or internal use, are not therapeutic grade and are not pure.

As you can see, there is a solution to the MRSA ...... one that is natural, pure and free of harmful side effects. And best of all, it also works to help to prevent your child from contracting MRSA or relative, too.

Aromatherapy Carrier

Aromatherapy currently enjoys a growing popularity as a method of treatment for hemorrhoids these days, but often to aromatherapy can be confusing to the average person. What is it? How it works Does it even work for everyone? These are valid questions that should be asked of any treatment regimen. When properly used and understood, aromatherapy offers beneficial, at home treatment of hemorrhoids.

First, it is useful to understand exactly what aromatherapy is and is not. Aromatherapy is not magic. This does not mean that just smelling a particular scent your ills will be cured. In effect, aromatherapy is a little a misleading term. Strictly speaking, should be labeled as a herbal medicine that is taken either by inhalation, on the same principle by which asthma inhalers work, or topically to the skin as ointments and creams work. The essential oils used in aromatherapy are medications, and just as chemically complicated and potentially dangerous as any other medications.

In fact, essential oils are generally not all oils. Concentrated Liquids extracted from plants by various means, including boiling, steaming, and condensation. Because these methods usually takes a bit of vegetable matter for equality a proportionately small amount of essential oils. Fortunately for one's pocketbook, essential oils are used only in small quantities, due to its concentration. As an example, some studies have shown that the essential oil of oregano is a powerful antiseptic that 1 part oregano oil to 4000 parts of water is sterilized water. It would be impossible to use a pure human being, it would be too powerful. Therefore, essential oils are always diluted in an oil carrier or water before use. Moreover, given the concentration level, essential oils should never be taken orally, without the supervision of a qualified herbalist who knows specifically with aromatherapy.

Essential oils are usually very volatile, which means that assets, medicinal chemicals solvents evaporate quickly when exposed to air. Therefore, essential oils are kept in tightly closed, dark glass bottles, in pure form until just before they use. Then and only then, are mixed with the company to dilute its own power. If a mixture prepared is exposed to oxygen for even a day, the real drug is probably gone. You can still smell good, and can be used for that purpose, but do not expect the therapeutic effect more.

There are two ways to treat hemorrhoids with essential oils, and these can be used together. The first method involves a shallow bath hot water. This method should only be done in a bathtub, because the doses given are for a sitz bath that fits over the toilet. Running a shallow, warm bath, and sprinkle twenty drops of lavender and twenty drops of juniper,

essential oils. Swish through the water by hand to ensure they are well mixed in water, and soak for twenty minutes. To use the other method, you also need a carrier oil of some kind. Of oil from the oil company popular for aromatherapy is sweet almond oil, but also works from apricot
well. In a pinch, the vegetable oil used for baking can work, but this is not optimal, since it is virtually guaranteed that some impurities. Mix two drops of lavender and one drop of geranium oil with one ounce of carrier oil, and apply to the area like an ointment.

Always test yourself for allergies to essential oils by diluting one drop in a small amount of carrier oil and applied already inside of your elbow. Leave it there for twenty-four hours and check closely for a reaction. If you are allergic to an essential oil, is important to know before applying to so sensitive and tender area of your body. Also, if you start having skin reactions during treatment, immediately cease All aroma therapy treatments immediately, along with anything else that has been made on your skin. Given these precautions, however relief, aromatherapy and treatment offered to many people suffering from hemorrhoids. In combination with a diet and lifestyle change, these aromatherapy treatments should solve the problem soon.
