Meditation For Beginners

meditation for beginners
Meditation books, I need a beginner's guide, and some advice......?

what problems can I encounter in my journey? Is there a place better than another? What should I expect? Any advice is welcome.

Also share what it has done for you.

My personal favorite is Thomas a' Kempis' "Imitation of Christ" - best if you can read it in Latin - but good anyway -
Many others out there-- I find it the rarest of books in that it remains fresh and always renews -
C.S. Lewis enjoyed a sense of well-being and the presence of goodness after reading the christian fantasies by the author of Lilith (name slips my mind at the moment - overwhelmed by the number of Q's in my email)

Yoga For Stress Relief

Posted on December 1, 2007

Yoga? Anyone have advice?

I want to start doing yoga. For the purposes of stress relief, have been under extreme stress since the end of October. What is the best way for beginners to start? Is any of the yoga, the demand for something? Should I take a class? If you have experience in yoga for Please give me tips and advice as possible! Khloe Thanks!

The best way to start as a beginner is to find a local yoga studio or a class at your gym and go to a specific class for beginners. While doing yoga at home with DVD and on its own is great, it's really important to start out in a class. That's because the instructors are trained to help protect your body from injury and to show you how to do the poses in proper alignment. If you do alone at home to begin with, could be detrimental. The following link has information very great for beginners, what to expect from the class, what are the different types of yoga, how talk to your teacher, and more. There is also a study guide where you can find a class in your area. I'm so glad you are turning to yoga to relieve stress, because I have found that has helped me immensely in that area. I'm much calmer and more able to handle stressful situations. Good luck!
