Citronella Essential
Alternative to DEET for baby?

I've been doing my own insect repellent and although it works fine, only lasts about 30 minutes. I will not put DEET my baby (or more children). Right now I'm using lemon balm and lavender essential oil in a base of grapeseed oil (about 7-10 drops of each EO). Lemon balm is citronella, on the road. Does anyone have a better recipe or even a store to buy products containing DEET free?

The best that can be used for a baby is garlic. Sounds strange, but it really works. Just take a pinch of garlic powder between the thumb and index finger, swish your fingers quickly through running water, and make a thick paste. Rub a little on the forehead of the child (if she / he is bitten until it, put it on the bite - Garlic helps to heal, too). Only the smell until it dries - a few minutes. However, keeps mosquitoes (and other insects, too) away for 48 hours. I had a child who was very popular with mosquitoes, and I to put in it every night before bed. If you missed a night, would be good but if I missed twice, would all those bitten again! And I've said a lot of friends and strangers, and are always surprised by how well it works. It is even used in commercial products - go in the gardening section of a department store and read the aerosol cans to keep mosquitoes out of your lawn.
