I have not gotten a cold or flu since 2004, despite working in close proximity to many people who have been very sick coughs or sneezes, all me. Here are my twelve quick fix every time I feel a bit over time. As usual, I'm just sharing my own experiences and observations, and nothing herein constitutes medical advice:
1) The oil of oregano. This rock stuff! I bring with me some every time I travel plane, because it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-parasitic. A few drops in water (put it on the tongue as directed burns like mad), helps me feel immune to sneeze or cough directly into the air is recirculated.
* Note that in some women, oil of oregano appears to cause sensitivity breasts. If you already have a monthly breast pain, you may want to choose # 3, colloidal silver, rather, or just use O O in the case of direct exposure.
2) Yogi Tea Echinacea Immune Support. Filled with a synergistic blend of herbs and spices. If my glands feel swollen, I drink a cup of this, and generally feel good about the time I finished the cup. I also like the Pau d'Arco tea for enrichment and anti-fungal, anti-viral qualities.
3) Colloidal Silver Throat Spray. Not for continuous daily use, I find this valuable tickle in the throat when the first lights. Like the oregano oil, colloidal silver also offers anti-bacterial, anti-fungal activity and anti-virals.
4) Probiotics (non-dairy base.) Often Garden of early life use of Defense. Maintaining the healthy intestinal ecology helps the body stay healthier all around.
5) Green Juice. Servings and lots of celery, parsley, spinach, kale and cabbage mixed with small amounts of fruits or vegetables in juice form. Alkalizing the body automatically avoids most pathogens to thrive. Some people believe that regular juice fasting remains more resistant to diseases and common colds. In nature, many animals do not eat when they feel sick. Give your digestive system allows a period of more energy to be directed towards rehabilitation.
6) Vitamin C. Common knowledge, but effective! Whether you get it from camu camu powder, Trader Joe's freeze dried strawberries, capsules or orange juice freshly squeezed, a little more vitamin C gives the immune system a boost.
7) Medicinal Mushrooms. I do not use these all the time, but trouble, I like New Chapter Organics' tincture called House of Defense, with a synergistic combination of fungal amplifier designed for immune activity. Some players are: Reishi, and Cordyceps Maitaki.
Miso Soup. Miso does not always mean soy. You can find chickpea miso in some stores of healthy foods. A hot cup of miso does wonders for sore throats.
* NOTE: If you have problems with Candida, skip the miso until that under control. Sometimes the culture Koji in miso can aggravate Candida.
9) omega-3 oils. Supposedly, peasants who ate a lot of Hemp and flax not succombe largely to the plague. More recent research confirms the importance of cold-pressed Omega-3 oils or whole foods that contain these oils. Support immune function and hormonal. If you do not regularly consume hemp and coconut oil together high quality Vegetarian DHA Oil also can help.
10) Essential Oils. Other Black Plague tradition: reportedly perfumers, who spent his days and nights surrounded by oil essential, do not get sick. These oils not only smell good, have medicinal effects. My favorites are lavender, jasmine, frankincense and lemon grass for your status mood lifting effects and anti-bacterial. 12) Rest. Well, old-fashioned R & R, works wonders the body, mind, soul and spirit. Because the disease affects all these levels, it makes sense to cultivate good health in each area.
I drive hard, tighten the novel-writing in the middle of busy, intense hours of training and intuitive sessions and a marriage. When I start to feel a little slow or worse, I know it's time taking a break. You might not want the break, but the warning signs of the disease comes as "permission" to slow down and recharge.
Finding your own dynamic version of R & R allows your body and soul know that it is necessary that a real disease appear to receive a break in all rule. Go ahead: take a walk, take a nap, watch a movie, read a book, get some of Reiki, ... do nothing at all! You deserve a break today.
