Can someone suggest a simple relaxation meditation/technique?

Using breath works well because the mind is connected to the breath, so we can use the breath to adjust the mind; therefore:

1. To slow down thought and relax the mind, make the exhale longer than the inhale. Inhale normally fairly quickly for a count of 4, and right away begin to do a slower exhale for a count of 6 or 8, then hold the breath out for a count of two, then repeat: inhale for count of 4, exhale for 8, etc. Do for about 7 minutes, sit quietly, and see how you feel.

2. To interrupt mind thoughts, do breath of fire for about a minute or two, inhale, hold with bhandas, then exhale and relax.

Conversely: To energize and activate, inhale for count of 6 or 8, then hold the inhale for 2, then and exhale for count of 4, and start over right away (with no pause at bottom of exhale). Similarly, for acheiving a balance of the mind, inhale for same count as exhale.

How To Reduce Stress

how to reduce stress
how to reduce stress
What are some goods methods to reduce stress?

I am a person who is fairly prone to worrying, and I often stress about the future, my study and work plans and other things that really should be trivial. My stress isn't out of control, but I'd like to be able to relax more. Does anybody have any idea on how I could do this?

Thankyou :)

Stress management has three basic components:

1. Self care. This increases your ability to experience stress. make sure you are getting enough sleep, eating healthy food, exercising, having some fun.

2. Relaxation. This reduces the impact of stress and anxiety right now. Try learning a relaxation technique, mediation or deep breathing exercises.

3. Coping. Deal with the sources of your stress. Figure out which you can change and which have to be endured. Change those you can, and use the above two to endure those that are out of your control.

Shaktipat......means and by whom?

Shaktipat or Shaktinipata is a Sanskrit word that refers to the act of a guru or spiritual teacher conferring a form of spiritual "power" or awakening on a disciple/student. "Shakti" translates as energy and "pat" as touch. Shaktipat can be carried out by the spiritually enlightened master either by transmission of sacred word or mantra, a look, a thought or by touch. The touch is usually given to the ajna chakra or third eye of the disciple. this type of meditation is given very rarely. if you find guru like this then never leave him just follow him by full devotion.

Are there any relaxation or calming techniques that can be used before a performance?

So I'm going to be in a play tomorrow for my school; but the thing is, I have anxiety and i noticed while practicing that i get extremely nervous...like, my heart starts pounding really fast and my voice gets really shaky. So I was wondering if there are any calming or relaxation techniques that I could use to help me stay calm so I don't have a panic attack on stage. Any websites or video links would be helpful! Thanks so much (:

Yes, there is a powerful technique named creative visualization to get
a greater inner strength and physical energy, an immediate calming status and focus on your goal.
Visualization involves taking some time to relax your mind { usually a few seconds}, and then following this by vividly imagining yourself doing the perfect performance-and doing this on a regular basis allows you to pre program your performance , Use the power of your imagination.I know that what you will attract more of what you are focusing on, so its important to focus on success.I know because I practice creative visualization about 30 years on everyday basis and I wish I would have $1 for each my realization in any field I wanted., in any subject, small or huge including my health. So, now answering your question , you benefit from first hand authentic information.
I'll give you an example how this works. When you think about running , as you sit in your chair, or lay in your bed,{ it is impossible to think only in words. Any thought is escorted by an image}, you will be accessing the muscles in your legs.
Learn about this wonderful technique from Internet but finally choose any technique you feel comfortable with, the main point remains the same, to imagine in your mind what you want to perform, exactly how you want to be. Putting a bit emotions in this and you'll be on your path to realize it. For sure.
Also Breathing correctly is important for dispelling the toxins and wastes from your body; in fact, it is estimated that we expel only about 30 percent of toxins in our bodies through the bowels and bladder-the rest is all respiratory. Breathing is also a great way to clear your mind, boost your energy, and improve your mood. Practice deep, slow, rhythmic, breathing daily with mind-body disciplines
Good luck
