What are some goods methods to reduce stress?

I am a person who is fairly prone to worrying, and I often stress about the future, my study and work plans and other things that really should be trivial. My stress isn't out of control, but I'd like to be able to relax more. Does anybody have any idea on how I could do this?

Thankyou :)

Stress management has three basic components:

1. Self care. This increases your ability to experience stress. make sure you are getting enough sleep, eating healthy food, exercising, having some fun.

2. Relaxation. This reduces the impact of stress and anxiety right now. Try learning a relaxation technique, mediation or deep breathing exercises.

3. Coping. Deal with the sources of your stress. Figure out which you can change and which have to be endured. Change those you can, and use the above two to endure those that are out of your control.

Stress And Anxiety

Does it sound like stress/anxiety is causing this nausea?

I am 14 yrs old. Lately I've been under a lot of stress (fighting with my mom a LOT, worrying about alot of things, and stressing over a hard summer assignment) and for the past week I've had bad nausea. It comes and goes at random times during the day and is ALWAYS present at night when I get tired. I never vomit, though, and Emetrol doesn't help much. It is interfering with my sleep but my mom doesn't think I need to see a doctor. Is it problably just stress-related?

See a doctor.
Anything that lasts for more than two weeks should be checked out.
You could have GERD (reflux) that could be aggravated by the stress. It is easily treated and cause some pretty serious complications if left untreated. Do not eat within two hours, or at least one hour of lying down. Avoid things that irritate your stomach. Stick to bland foods like rice bread, clear liquids, noodles, jellow, and similiar non-spicey foods.

See if it is related to any specific foods such as milk, cheese, milk products, breads, eggs, etc.

There is a long list of things that "could" be going on. I would not self-diagnose and I would see if there is some local help available to help with some coping strategies for all the stress and fighting.

Make sure you take really good care of yourself when all this stress is going on. Eat regularly, sleep, exercise, and have some fun in your life.

Sorry life is tough right now, but promise better days are coming.

I wish you the best. See a doctor. Even if stress is the cause, it is important to do something about it. Untreated, prolonged, uncontrolled stress causes a huge variety of illness and health problems that can be very serious. Unload the stress with some serious physical outlet so it can't make you sick.

I don't know if you are having other symptoms, but I strongly encourage you two not to diagnose and ignore what is an important symptom.

By the way the "symptom checker" on WebMD is a good tool to help get an idea of what is going on. Check it out!

Good luck with both your mom and your assignment, but even better luck being happy.
